So I've decided to create a blog with just all my hair stuff. It's still in the works, but the address to it is http://hairdonedidandthensome.blogspot.com/ Feel free to check it out! Let me know what you think! But just remember, it's a lot like Utah, and it's still Under Construction!
PS I ended up coming back down to Arizona for a little bit. But no worries I'll be back in Utah soon enough, I'm sure. Anywho, TTFN!

A lot's happened!
I know I've totally been slacking at this lovely lil blog, but I've finally found some time to update things. I'll try and give you the "Reader's Digest" version of the past months. I think, to make things easy (so I don't jump around too much) I'll go month by month.
December:
Christmas was AWESOME! It's really hard to enjoy Christmas like I used to when it's just me and the parentals, but I got some amazing gifts, so it was totally worth it! (that totally makes me sound like a spoiled brat, who only cares about the presents. That's totally not the case! I am so grateful for that time of year, to be able to celebrate Christ and His birth. And it's a great excuse to see family more!) I have been dying to get some leather chaps, sure enough, they were under the tree this year! Now my biker image is almost complete, the only thing I'm lacking is the bike. . .I also got a jumpsuit! It's an off brand of Carharts. You know, the kind that farmers wear in the winter to help keep them warm. My dad's had a pair as long as I can remember, and I've finally been able to enjoy the warmth. Santa also brought me "Pow Pow" training!
Also this month, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and not be blonde anymore (well actually to make a long story short, I had to go a lot darker than planned cause we had a "hair school mishap"). For almost 24 years I was blonde. It's definitely been a change going dark.
I did manage to go out on a couple dates, which is out of the norm, but they really weren't a big deal.
January:
I started going to school day and night, so I was at school almost 50 hours a week! On top of that I started coaching club volleyball for High Country! It's been an amazing adventure! I'll have to do a separate post all on what's gone on with that. But in short - I LOVE my team! They are the best girls EVER! We had a party and went skating at the Oval. They are really the best!
And my birthday was on the 21st, as per tradition, a got some friends to go to the Utah Grizzlies hockey game!

February:
Yup, that's right, I finished school! Finally! I am officially a licensed cosmetologist/barber (I even got my little piece of paper saying so, just a couple weeks ago)!
Once I got back from Colorado, just a couple days later, I headed down to Vegas. Thanks to all of you that helped me go by buying bag deals, I really appreciate it. It was incredible! I learned so much! And it's Vegas. . .I LOVE Vegas!
Oh. My. Gosh! I almost forgot. . .I got to finally go to an AVP event! Hot Winter Nights came to Utah! Hannah, one of the girls that plays for me, and I went to the E Center to see them bring beach volleyball, indoors! It was SICK! I've always wanted to see an event, and now I finally was able to!
I started working back at the school, at the front desk. It's been fun! And now that I'm not in school on Tuesday nights, I've been able to start being there for the Laurel's more and be at mutual (I'm one of the advisers). I love my Laurel's! I've learned so much from them!
I got to go down to Flagstaff to see my sister and her family. While I was down there I cut my niece's and my sister's hair. Christina was able to donate her long blonde hair to Locks of Love!
Speaking of hair, this month it was Bingham High School's Prom. So a couple of my Laurels came to me to get their hair done-did!
This month volleyball was interesting, to say the least. We ran into a bumpy road with some major challenges. Things settled down towards the end of the month, where they had a tournament, and they completely RoCkEd it! I could not have been more proud of my girls and how well they played! lOvE tHeM! They also really like to hang out together, off the court. We've had a couple parties on the weekends, and I'm sure there is more to come. I think the talk is a sleepover next time. . .
Finally April:
The beginning of the month, the youth put on a talent show for the ward. The laurels played "Popcorn Popping" by hitting glasses of water with spoons. It was awesome!
Lately I've been spending most of my time up at the Hunstman Cancer Hospital with my family. My uncle found out he has cancer this past fall, and things have not been the best for him lately. He's been up at the Huntsman for the past four weeks. It's just been one thing after the next. But thank goodness for little miracles. I KNOW that everything happens for a reason, and I am so thankful that the "Man Upstairs" is in charge and He knows what all is going on.
As for the dating life - it's a joke! I've been stood up 4 times in one month, 3 of those times were in one week! Two of the three different guys that stood me up, I'd have to say really surprised me! Things are really getting quite comical! If you're in need of an entertaining story, just ask me about some of my dating experiences. I've recently received dating advice from my brother Gary. I'm now in the process of creating my own Party List!
So how's that for the "Reader's Digest" version? haha Sorry it's pretty bland for the most part. At least, I've updated ya'll on the life of ME! I'll probably be putting up a separate post all about my volleyball team when the season comes to an end next month. And if I get around to it, I'll make separate posts about Colorado, and Vegas too. We'll see. . .

Here's me with my dark hair, and my friend Brittany, aka my fellow Eagles fan!

(front to back; left to right) Kinsey, Jenny, Sheylbe, Hannah, Sharidan, Maleah, Courtney, and Stefani
On a whim, me and a couple friends decided to drive up to Green River, Wyoming to go watch my cousin Jackson wrestle. I love that kid, he's such a stud! And my birthday was on the 21st, as per tradition, a got some friends to go to the Utah Grizzlies hockey game!
(front to back; left to right) Alex, Elisabeth, Anela, Me, Brian, Capanna, and Steph
I also got to go with the youth to a Jazz game! We got these cool orange shirts that say "Boozer's Buddies"! We all had a blast! And because the Jazz won, we all got free Big Mac's!
February:
This was a busy month! Every year, for the past 4 years, I've gone out to Colorado to watch my cousins wrestle. It's a BIG deal out there. For high school state wrestling, they fill the Pepsi Center. It's unreal! It's so much fun! I love being able to support my family and spend time with them. Well this year, I told myself that I had to be finished with my hours at school or I wouldn't let myself go. Needless to say, I finished my 2000 hours the day before we took the road trip over the Rocky Mountains.
Jackson pins the kid to take 3rd in State!

Problems
So I did something the other night and somehow erased all of my family and friend's blogs. Give me a break, I was up at like 3 in the morning. I have no control over what I do when it's that late. I tried going through and adding everyone, but I'm sure I forgot a few. If you read my blog make a comment or something so I can be sure to add your page.
PS I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but no worries, posts and pictures are soon on their way! I just have to get a hold of life first so I can make some time.
XOXO

Caper is coming!!!
So every year Paul Mitchell holds an event down in Vegas for Future Professionals (or FP's aka us cosmetology students)called Caper. Caper is an incredible event that is packed full of opportunities for us FP's to get some advance training from the best of the best in the business! We will be able to be trained by the Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy, John Paul DeJoria, Robert Cormeans, Winn Claybaugh, Angus Mitchell, Stephanie Kocielski, Scott Cole, and Linda Yodice just to name a few. For me to be able to attend this amazing event and take part in this opportunity I have to sell "Bag Deals". This is not something that I can just pay for and attend, I have to earn my way. So if you would be so kind as to help me, that would be awesome! Keep in mind, with the holiday season right around the corner, these do make GREAT Christmas gifts! If you are running low on product yourself, here's your opportunity to stock up. Tell your friends, spread the word to your family! Anything you can do to help me out on this would be GREATLY appreciated!
Each of these "Bag Deals" are only $30.80 (including tax)! There are 5 different options for the "Bag Deals". There is Color Care, Extra-Body, Moisture, Smoothing, and Tea Tree.
The Color Care Bag Deal comes with:
10.14 oz Color Protect Shampoo
10.14 oz Color Protect Conditioner
11 oz bottle of Hold Me Tight (hairspray)
*The Color Care line is amazing! I use the Shampoo and Conditioner almost every time I wash my hair. I absolutely LOVE the smell of it. It contains sunscreens and sunflower extract to help protect and extend the life of your hair color. (Even if you don't have colored hair, this is amazing especially in the summer, the sunscreens and sunflower extract help protect against the sun damage as well)
The Extra-Body Bag Deal comes with:
10.14 oz Extra-Body Shampoo
6.7 oz Extra-Body Sculpting Foam
11 oz Extra-Body Firm Finishing Spray
*I LOVE the Sculpting Foam and the Finishing spray! I use the sculpting foam when I wear my hair curly and it works GREAT! And the Finishing Spray. . .I just can't talk about it enough! It's great for everyday use, as well as to hold those styles you don't want going anywhere! PS it's also humidity resistant!
The Moisture Bag Deal comes with:
10.14 oz Instant Moisture Daily Shampoo
10.14 oz The Detangler
11 oz Worked Up (hairspray)
*Instant Moisture is self explanatory. Especially in the dry Utah climate, this stuff works great! It goes deep into the hair so it also helps to add volume and body. And Worked Up has a long lasting hold that, if you decide your "day" hair won't cut it for the "night life" then you can change things up and have your new style stay all night long!
The Smoothing Bag Deal comes with:
10.14 oz Super Skinny Daily Shampoo
10.14 oz Super Skinny Daily Treatment
5.1 oz Super Skinny Serum
*Super Skinny is an amazing product line. If you are wanting smooth, sleek hair, here ya go! The Super Skinny Complex goes deep into the hair shaft displacing water and constricts the hair. A benefit to this, is that it helps to reduce your drying time!! PS it also has a yummy candy apple smell to it! mmmm!
The Tea Tree Bag Deal comes with:
10.14 oz Tea Tree Special Shampoo
10.14 oz Tea Tree Special Conditioner
5.3 oz Tea Tree Body Bar
*This is also a great product for dry hair. The Australian Tea Tree oil helps to give a fresh clean feel! It has a mint smell to it, and it gives off a "tingling" sensation! This is a very popular line for the men!
Like I said, anything you can do helps a ton! Tell your friends, your family, your neighbors, and anyone else you can think of about this great deal! If you have any questions just let me know. If you want to buy any of these great deals you can either come into the school, I can pick them up for you, or we can figure something out. If you do come into the school (its on 900 E and 480 N in Provo, next to Gold's Gym) just let the front desk know that Amanda 89 sent you there!

Reasons to Support Proposition 8 in Cali!
I got this off of my sister's blog and found it VERY interesting! She also had some video's she'd found about the presidential candidates views on abortion and same sex marriage. If you're interested in seeing them let me know and I'll send you a link. (She just found them on YouTube).
Anyone who knows anyone in California - please read this and copy it onto your blog. I received this in an email, but thought it was worthwhile to post on my blog.
"In a recent LDS Sacrament meeting in California, the focus was on Amendment 8.(The gay marriage issue.) One of the speakers who was an LDS judge in the area, had statistics that were 'mind blowing'.
For example, in Boston, MA (where gay marriages are now legal,) the Catholic Charities have closed their doors because the state has required them to allow adoptions to same sex couples, and they refused. They are a large and worthwhile charity with great power in the state and they were overruled.
A Methodist church has lost their tax exempt status because the minister refused to perform a marriage of a same sex couple (they were not of his congregation).
A physician who refused to do fertility treatments on a same sex couple because of religious reasons was sued, lost and the state is requiring him to treat everyone as equals.
Our schools will be required to teach, starting in kindergarten, that marriages make up many different combinations. The consequences are horrible.
Directly tied into ALL of this is our right to continue to go to the Temple. If Gay Marriage is supported by the government, then those who are same-sex married, who are 'LDS' and legally recognized as married by the government, can sue to be married in the temple. It is my opinion that the church will not bend on this issue, and our rights to go to the temple will be in jeopardy.
AND goodbye to those religious tax-deductions. Tithing, fast offerings, etc. We will lose our tax-exemption status if the government legally forces the church to support same-sex marriage'
These effects are far-reaching! I believe this issue is not apolitical issue at all, but a moral issue that affects all of society.
The Proclamation on the family clearly gives a warning voice on this matter.I pray that this issue on the ballots will overturn the gay marriages occurring right now in that state, and help prevent other states from adopting this stance. I believe that it is important to support and defend traditional marriage, home and family.
Another friend says that her relatives in Sweden are even watching what goes on in California. Friends in Canada are watching.
The whole world is watching to see what happens."

The QUEST for a new tradition!
My sister-in-law, Jana, told me about a Women's Football Clinic BYU held last year and asked if they did it again, would I go? Of course!! Was that really a question that needed to be asked? Well, sure enough she found out when it was that they were having it this year. I do believe we just found a new tradition! It was so much fun. We got some free stuff, a t-shirt, and food. Coach Mendenhall talked to us about the program and we were able to ask some of the players some questions. After all that fun we were able to go outside in the LaVell Edwards Stadium and run some drills. It was a blast!!
By-the-way, I did get the best compliment ever while we were running some tackling drills. We had to side-step over some tackling bags, then actually tackle one that the coach or players were holding up. After I side-stepped and tackled the bag the coach just looked at me and said "You're an athlete aren't you?!" Me having not done too much for the past few years just said "kinda, yeah". He replied with "I can tell". I was so excited! For real, probably the best compliment I've ever received! (I know I'm a nerd, it's cool)

Day's of '47 FuN!
I would have to say that the 24th of July is my favorite holiday. I think it's because of all of the different memories I have of the holiday growing up. Going to Demolition Derby's down in Fairview, followed by fireworks; going up to Liberty Park and hanging out with Uncle Don and Aunt Fay and some of the cousins, then heading over to Liberty Park to watch the fireworks with them, then go back and eat watermelon. . .yum!
This year was just as fun! I slept out on the streets for Monty's 3rd(?) Annual Sleep out on the Street Extravaganza! (haha I think that's what he calls it) ME of all people was the last one to fall asleep. I wasn't able to fall asleep till we actually moved out onto the hard street, which was at 5:30 in the AM, then I slept like a baby till the marathon runners came by. My favorite part of the parade is the motorcycle cops! The Army guys were pretty rad too!
That night I went down to my all time favorite tradition. . .Fairview's Demolition Derby! I LOVE that thing. It's pretty hard to get tickets, unless you have connections. I'm so glad we've got connections! My parents and I, along with my brother Gary and his family (and father-in-law) all went down to it. The two little boys loved every minute of it! Tanner wanted to meet a "race car driver" so bad. We have some old family friends who's boy (that just got home from his mission the beginning of July) was one of the Derby driver's so I was able to take Tanner down into the pit to meet him. He even got to meet the other nice drivers.
That weekend I went up to Monty's cabin. So much fun! We played some Hearts, went down a couple zip lines, and even played in a cargo net! Yes, there was a cargo net in the middle of the woods. Random, but SO much FUN!
